Designed and implemented all components for a search engine serving a focused vertical market.

Targeted page retrieval, interpretation/knowledge extraction, page ranking, indexing and results presentation.

In-depth understanding of the breadth of Internet protocols including HTTP(S), HTML, CSS, URI syntax, Cookies, Unicode, and the host of supporting / related specifications.

Written in C++ (with Standard and Boost C++ libraries) and Python. With many third-party libraries not being sufficiently mature at the time, components were often developed directly from the specifications.
